Private Gallery

In the summer of 2018 Proxima was retained to provide a lighting design for a large private home under extensive renovation in West Point Grey, Vancouver.

The lighting design was not only required to provide a comfortable and pleasing illumination and enhanced social mood throughout, but also to highlight the client’s hanging art collection and meet his high expectations for quality.

To achieve the design requirements, Proxima proposed a combination of three types of lighting modes:

1-Accent highlighting for object d’art,
2-Wall-wash wide-angle uniform lighting for selected walls and unique fixtures,
3-General lighting for illuminating hallways, stairs, etc.

The designed lighting scheme is illustrated in the following schematic diagrams.

The project was successfully completed on schedule in the summer of 2019 and based on feedback, met the client’s expectations for high-quality illumination.
